QTablet is or should be a light weight application framework for internet tablets or what ever platform/device that can run Qt applications.
QTablet should scale from small displays to larger displays
QTablet should provide cool effects such as transitions, pannable widgets and support for rotating the application framework
QTablet should provide fully finger usable interface for touchscreen usage. We don't like pens..
QTablet should provide an easy way to port existing Qt application to the framework at least in a way that they can be run by the framework even though they wouldn't be good user experiences.
QTablet should support running other X11 applications e.g. osso applications, if QTablet runs on X11 platform
QTablet should run on framebuffer without X11 and in X11 platforms
QTablet should run on Qt Kinetic in the end
2008/12/10: DokuWiki upgraded
2008/10/10: Created git repository to GitHub. I decided to redesign the whole QTablet with completely new approach. I even added few classes there.
2008/09/16: Because the lack of time there hasn't been much progress since the last summer.
2008/03/17: Two developers joined the QTablet team: John Wiggins and JP Nurmi.
2008/03/14: QTablet project received a donation for a new N810.
2008/02/10: Finally I've got time to do coding and I think I'm starting to see the results soon. Currently I'm working on the menu, its configuration, look and feel. Next I'm starting to work with virtual keyboard. I'll add screenshots soon. I hope I'll get subversion repository working soon.
Wiki page created.
First proto version of the application framework is under construction.
Currently QTopia 4.4 (preview) version has been built for the N800 with a Chinook scratchbox and the OS2008 beta. Proto version is quite fast and webkit demo works.
tslib has been built and is working with QTopia Core 4.4
